Who is collecting it

NZ Mānuka Honey, a trading name of Kauri Ridge Holdings Limited. Level 1, 12 Kōwhai Lane, Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021. Privacy questions: hello@nz-manuka-honey.co.nz. We are the agency responsible for this information under the Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect, and why

• Waitlist and newsletter: your email, and optionally a first name, which plan or range interests you, and anything you tell us never to send. We use it to email you when the shop opens and, if you asked for it, about new producers. Nothing else.
• Contact form: name, email, optional phone, and what you wrote. We use it to answer you.
• Producer applications: the business details you give us on the producer form, used to assess a wholesale account.
• Orders:your name, email, phone, delivery address, what you bought and, for a gift, the recipient's first name and your message. We use it to pack and send the order and to deal with a return.
• Subscriptions: the same, plus your plan and exclusions, held for as long as you subscribe.
• Analytics: anonymous usage — which pages were read, which links were clicked — through PostHog. We do not build a profile of you from it and we do not use it for advertising.

We never collect or store card numbers. Payment happens entirely on Stripe's hosted checkout, and we only ever see the last four digits and whether it succeeded.

Do you have to give it to us?

No. You can read every page on this site without giving us anything. If you don't give us an email we can't email you when the shop opens, and if you don't give us an address we can't post you honey — that's the whole of the consequence.

Who else holds it

Some of these providers store information outside New Zealand. Using this site means it may be held overseas.

• Vercel — hosting and server logs, which include IP addresses. United States and other regions.
• Notion — where form submissions and orders are recorded so we can act on them. United States.
• Stripe — payments, subscriptions and the customer portal. United States and other regions. Stripe is the only party that holds your card details.
• Resend — sending the emails we send you. United States.
• PostHog — anonymous product analytics.
• A courier — the delivery address and your phone number, once orders are running.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with the producers or brands named on this site.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist and newsletter: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
• Contact messages: two years, so we can find a past conversation.
• Orders and subscriptions: seven years, because tax law requires business records to be kept.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct it. Email us and we'll answer within 20 working days. You can also ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep, and we will.

Every marketing email has a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately rather than “within 10 days”.

If you are not happy with how we've handled your information you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising cookies and carries no advertising trackers. PostHog sets a cookie to count a visit once rather than twice. Your browser may also store your bag locally, on your own device, where we can't read it.

Security

Everything travels over HTTPS. Card details never reach us. Access to the order records is limited to the people who pack the orders. If a breach ever affected you we would tell you and the Privacy Commissioner, as the Act requires.
